The University Musical Society, located in Ann Arbor, Michigan has been presenting a full spectrum of performing arts since 1880. Today UMS presents 75 performances along with more than 100 educational events each season. From classical music to contemporary dance and theater, UMS is the symbolic creative heartbeat of Ann Arbor. A parallel star in the live performance scene is The Ark. Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the Ark was founded in 1965, and it has evolved to become the go-to place in the region for live performances focused on folk, roots, and ethnic music, along with story-telling performances and much more.
